Plastic Free July @ Harvest – July 6, 2019

This week you will smell the enticing aromas of hot crepes from our new stallholder Liffey Creperie. With lashings of honey and lemon or local ham and cheese they will be hard to resist! Afghani Bolani will be serving up their ever popular bolani and Seoul Food flipping their tasty korean pancakes….a sure favourite among market goers. Do you need any more reasons to come to Harvest Market this Saturday?  Well…there are 46 stallholders this weekend bringing you a variety of the best and freshest Tasmanian produce and a selection of tasty homemade treats. That’s 46 more reasons why you should visit Harvest Launceston this weekend!

This week marks the beginning of Plastic Free July. What are you doing to reduce your plastic use in everyday life? Harvest are excited to welcome not-for-profit group Plastic Free Launceston for the entire month. Each Saturday they will be hosting workshops for the public raising awareness and giving practical examples of ways you can reduce your use of plastic. Workshops include:

  • Plastic Free Storage and Lifestyle Tips – Saturday 6 July
  • Making Bees Wax Wraps – Saturday 13 July
  • Composting – Saturday 20 July
  • Sewing reusable bags – Saturday 27 July

Bring your keep cup and reusable shopping bags and head down to Harvest Market this weekend. And don’t fret if you forget! The Harvest stall have a range of merchandise including keep cups and reusable bags that you can purchase from one of our friendly volunteers.
